It's Not So Scary & Very Merry!!!

This time tomorrow we'll be in the air & on our way to Port Orleans French Quarter!

Love this resort!  Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter.  Can't wait to have a beignet!

Pretty fountain!

Will this be our building?  Can't wait to find out!

We're going to take a ride on the riverboat to Disney Springs!  One of the perks of staying at the Port Orleans sister resorts, French Quarter & Riverside!

On Halloween we're going to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!  The Boo to You Parade is one of Disney World's best!

And then we'll be attending the first Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party of the year on November 7th!  Who can resist Toy Soldiers, and Mickey & Minnie in their Christmas finest!

Hopefully my husband will be able to walk during the Christmas Party after running his first half marathon on Sunday, November 6th during Disney's Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend!  Good luck honey!

We'll be sampling all kinds of goodies throughout the week at Epcot's annual International Food & Wine Festival.  Hope I don't gain back any of the fifteen pounds I just lost at Weight Watchers!  I think I'll bring my scale with me!

Stay tuned for lots of Food & Wine pics!

Pine Burst!

I'm LOVING working with this stamp from Penny Black, called Pine Burst!  It's my first of her stamps, and I'm finding it very versatile.  This was the birthday card I made for my 83 year old mom, and she thought it was beautiful.  I stamped it in Ranger's Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink, then colored the berries in with my Tombow Dual Brush Watercolor Markers.  I lightly shaded the background with watercolor pencils, then blended everything with a very light touch of water. When dry, I stamped Happy Birthday using a stamp from the Close to my Heart "Birthday Script" stamp set.  I sprinkled the wreath with Clear Rock Candy Distress Glitter, and attached a small twine bow.  Voila!

It's a glass pumpkin patch!

My daughter-in-law, Steph, gives me a hand blown glass pumpkin every year for my birthday, picked from the glass pumpkin patch at the Wheaton Arts' Festival of Fine Craft. Love them! Thanks, Steph!  Here's this year's addition!

My own glass pumpkin patch!

Have to keep them out of reach of little hands!

Double, Double, Toil and Trouble!

So today is my 60th birthday!!!  Wow, I can NOT believe it!  Where did all that time go?  I was just thinking yesterday that I graduated from High School 42 years ago.  Yikes!  When I think of the fact that I'm now 60, it doesn't bother me at all, but when I think that I've been out of High School 42 years, I'm like OMG!  I'm old!  LOL  Actually, I am a firm believer that age is just a number, and from working in a hospital ER as well as ICU, as an RN for 20 years, I saw just how true that is.

Anyway, I woke up this morning to presents from my husband sitting on the kitchen table.  He had to leave extra early, and for some reason I couldn't fall asleep last night, so I was up until around 1:30am, hence, I got up later than usual today, so he was already out the door.  Does my husband know me or what?  I told him not to buy me any presents for my birthday, as we're going to Disney World next month, and that is present enough, but he didn't listen!  This is one of those times I'm happy he didn't!  He knows how much I love Halloween, and he got me this adorable Witch's Boot candle holder, along with the above Forbidden Apple scented Yankee candle, one other candle fragrance that is one of my all time favorites, Harvest, and beautiful yellow roses!

I already had the Witch's Hat tealight holder, so I think the boots are a great addition!

Don't they look cute sitting on the kitchen counter!

Beauties, Cuties & don't let the door hit ya!

Hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend to close out the summer!  I can't lie; I'm so so happy to see summer go!  I've never been a summer girl to begin with.  I do love going down the shore, walking the boards, seeing the ocean & listening to the waves crashing & seagulls cawing overhead, but laying on the beach covered in sunscreen with sand blowing all over me, making my skin feel like raw sandpaper, uh, no.  Plus, having to guard any delicious treats you might have from those aforementioned seagulls, who swipe down like stealth bombers, snatching your treat right out of your hand, uh, no.  Blasphemy, right?  I drive my real life & Facebook summer loving friends absolutely crazy when I start posting Pinterest Fall & Halloween ideas all over my FB page, as well as Fall countdowns!  They're like "nooooooooo, stooooppppp".  I'm like, sorry sistah!  I say to summer as it heads out the door, don't let the door hit ya where the...well you know.  :)

So, yes, I am completely decorated for Fall & Halloween.  I started about a week ago.  My dear husband carted all my decoration crates up from the basement to the living room after I sorted through everything to try to condense a little.  I have a teensy habit of going a little overboard when holiday decorating.  Just a little bit.  As my cousin said when I posted a few photos of my decorations strewn about while I was laying my ground plan, he said it looked like Halloween exploded all over my house!  Excuse me?  Obviously he just doesn't get it.  You notice I said "he".  Explains everything, right?

We had a crab fest on Sunday, the 4th, so that everyone could relax on Monday, Labor Day, before heading to work today.  OMG.  I've never seen so many crabs at once.  Why did we think we needed two bushels for 15 people?  Especially when a few of those people hardly ate any crabs.  I had 18,000 steps on my Fitbit just from standing at the stove cooking crabs all day.  They were good though.  I did one batch in Old Bay, and the other three in my famous olive oil, garlic & beer recipe.  I don't think I want to see another crab until next summer though.

I was so busy cooking crabs I forgot to take any pics of the beauties, so here are a few pics of my cuties, my three grandsons, four year old Wes, three year old Gavin, and two year old Luc!

Don't judge me...

Yes, yes I am in the midst of decorating for Fall & Halloween, even if it's not quite September & the high today will be 89!  It will be September before I'm finished.  It's all a jumbled mess right now, but there is a method to my madness!  😀
