Don't judge me...

Yes, yes I am in the midst of decorating for Fall & Halloween, even if it's not quite September & the high today will be 89!  It will be September before I'm finished.  It's all a jumbled mess right now, but there is a method to my madness!  😀

Treats & Sweets Halloween Candy Tote

I first painted a tote like this about twenty years ago, when I first got into decorative painting.  I love everything about the Halloween season, & I loved this tote.  I gave it away to a relative, & I've regretted it ever since.  Especially since I've visited said  family member many times over the years, including the Halloween season, & sad to say, the tote hasn't made an appearance for many many years.  Taught me a lesson on who to give my beloved handcrafted items to!

Anyway, being the organized type A person that I am, I held on to all my patterns from previous projects, & I vowed to make this Halloween tote again, for me!  I even recycled this wood tote, having picked it up in a yard sale a few years ago, specifically with this project in mind.  Hopefully I'll have it finished up soon, & will post the final result!

Nothing exciting here!  Just a test to claim my blog!  Hope this works!
Another update from the past.  Thought this one was appropriate considering I'm longing for cooler weather, and pumpkin season!

Fall can't come too soon for me! Burned cinnamon candles yesterday, & today working on finishing up these happy projects!

And here are the finished products, with an extra added in!

First wool project I ever did!

My mom, who was almost 80 at the time she completed this for me, is the cross stitch queen of the family.  I finished it off, as she doesn't do any sewing anymore.  Isn't it awesome?  I love Halloween!!!

My second wool project!  Can you tell I love fall?

When it's too hot outside...stay in & color!

A look back at January 2012...

8/14/2016:  Present day post update-  I've now discovered that all my posts prior to 2013 are completely gone.  :(  I can see the titles, but the content has disappeared.  It seems only 2013 forward is intact.  I guess I should be happy about that.  If you're confused as to what I'm talking about, please see the previous update, which is my first post of my newly created blog.  This is the second post.  Hope I haven't lost you already!  :)    As you'll soon see, this post says I would be posting monthly chapters.  I don't know what happened to the rest of the look back at 2012, I suppose it's floating out in cyberspace somewhere, so just January will have to do for now, in case I find the rest!

A look back at 2012....

I've decided to post by monthly chapters, events & happenings of my life over the past year, obviously starting with...... January 2012: I was halfway done with chemo, and visited my Godson, Christopher, who was 7 1/2 months old at the time, on New Year's Day!

I was planning my daughter-in-law's baby shower. She was going to be having our first grandchild, who was due July 6th.  My pretty daughter-in-law, Steph, showing off the sweet owl beanie mom-mom bought for her soon-to-be precious grandson.

My very talented & beautiful daughter, Lauren, started her first teaching job, as an art teacher for grades K-6, so we had a combo Happy Birthday-Congratulations party for her!

The blogger formerly known as....Country Cabin Thoughts and Crafts

Hey all!  Hope you're all enjoying this very sunshiny hot August afternoon!  My name is Teresa and I'm a craftaholic.  I'm also a wife, a mother, & a mom-mom to three very adorable little boys & one sweet pre-teen boy.  I'm a Disney addict, specifically, I'm addicted to vacationing at Walt Disney World, but I do love anything & everything Disney.  I was a hairstylist during the first half of my professional life, and an ER/Critical Care RN for the second half.  I'm now, as I like to call myself, a stay at home crafter!  I love crafts of all kinds, but specifically, and not in any particular order, quilting, wool applique, scrapping-digi & traditional, card making, decorative painting, coloring-who doesn't like coloring?, knitting, and all needle arts.  I'd like to say I spend most of my days crafting, especially since I'm technically retired (in actuality I had to stop working due to an auto-immune disease that causes terrible joint & muscle pain), but life usually gets in the way of my crafting time.  I'm trying to be more diligent in setting time aside for myself to finish my many works in progress, as well as starting new projects.  I hadn't folk art/decorative painted in years, but that is at the forefront of my crafting right now.  I do love it!

I had a blog for a few years called Country Cabin Thoughts & Crafts, and I had quite a few followers, but I stupidly deleted it last year, as I was feeling overwhelmed with all that was going on in my life, and hadn't been able to update in a timely fashion.  Being the type A perfectionist personality that I am, I felt if I couldn't update regularly, I should just get rid of the blog.  How sorry I am about that decision!  My blog was like a scrapbook of my life that I let disappear.  I tried & tried to figure out how to get it back, but alas, since it was past the 90 days that Blogger allows you to retrieve your deleted blog, there was nothing I could do.  I was able to find a lot of my previous posts, weirdly, in my feed, and realized if I only clicked on the date of my post it would take me to the post.  If I actually clicked on the title, it would take me to a page saying the blog was deleted. So, with that said, I'm going to be trying to retrieve my previous posts and reposting here.  I'll also, of course, post updated entries too.  Hope you all enjoy reading about the past, as well as the present, events of my life!  Welcome back to me, and talk to you all soon!
