The Salvation Poem

So my husband was working on his truck this morning, a Ford F250, trying to figure out why it won't start.  When he removed the panel down by where the front seat passenger's feet would be, he saw this little paper with a cross attached tucked in.  The phone number on the back is to a church in Mississippi.  His truck is from Mississippi, and we've had it for six years.  What a nice little surprise. He is wondering if he should put the prayer note back where he found it.

Patriotic Pinwheel Sampler Quilt Along

Many many moons ago, Almost 7 1/2 years ago to be exact, I was a brand new wanna-be quilter.  I roamed quilting blogs, and happened upon Rachel Griffith's ps i quilt.  I also saw that she was doing a quilt along.  What's a quilt along, I wondered.  Being the adventurous person that I am, I thought, why not?  How hard can it be?  Famous newbie quilter last words!  Suffice it to say that I have finally finished this quilt, 7 1/2 years later!  Darn, but matching up those points was hard!  There are more mistakes in that quilt than I have fingers (and toes), but I love it all the same.  I even made it reversable

I  have become a half decent quilter over the years, even doing all my own free-motion machine quilting, and have completed around 7 quilts, including this one.  I have two more completed tops that I also started seven years ago, that are just waiting patiently to be finished!  I'm sure this is small potatoes compared to many quilters.  My excuses for not accomplishing more is that I have about ten or a hundred more other crafty loves that take up quite a bit of time, and I just have a busy life in general.  My sewing room closet is filled with the most awesome fabric collections, just waiting to be turned into something wonderful some day.  Some day....

If you would like to do this quilt-a-long, here is the link.  Just scroll down to Rachel's  tutorial page to get to the Pinwheel Sampler Quiltalong instructions.

And now I present to you my Patriotic Pinwheel Sampler!!!

Loving my Cricut Explore!

I've had my Cricut Explore for almost two years, but have rarely used it.  It's just not something that enters my mind.  I even forget I have it.  I'm so use to doing digital scrapping now, and have recently gotten into coloring, and cardmaking using watercolor pencils & stamps, that that was my main focus.  I really love using watercoloring in my card making, however, buying stamps can get quite expensive.  There had to be a better solution, and there was.  My Cricut!  Why oh why haven't I been using this wondrous machine?  I made two Father's Day cards with it; one for my husband, and one for my father-in-law.  I am becoming a new fan of this machine!  My next goal is to tackle a vinyl project!
